Childhood
illnesses - a growing concern
Anyone
who's been following health news for the past few years
knows that certain childhood conditions have become so widespread
that can rightfully be called epidemics. Statistics point
to a dire situation:
- More
than 13% of children are obese, increasing their risk
of type II diabetes. It's no longer an adult-onset
disease
- Childhood
asthma has increased more than 40% since 1980. Over
5 million American children currently suffer from
it
- ADHD
affects 5-10% of children, more than 3.5 million.
Meanwhile, drugs used to treat ADHD are increasingly
linked to suicidal behavior
- There
has been a 435% increase from the years 1992-1993
to 1999-2000 in numbers of children aged 6-21 who
have autism
- Many
children suffer from recurrent infections that need
constant antibiotic treatment
The
list goes on and on. Without being too alarmist, it's clear
that our kids are in trouble and need new innovative ways
to treat their problems.
One
of Dr. Koles' main reasons for creating the Optimal
Health Center is so she can work with kids in a relaxing,
stress-free environment. Dr. Koles has extensive experience
working with children and their parents, and excellent
success in treating most childhood diseases naturally

Many
of the problems kids face today can be remedied with proper
nutrition, individualized supplementation, allergy testing
and gentle detoxification/chelation.
Because
children often respond to medications differently than adults
and because drugs can be particularly toxic to a small child,
Dr. Koles prefers to first try natural ways to improve the
health and wellness of your child. Please click on one of

conditions used at the Optimal Health Center. You can also
